Definition and Usage

The set_axis() method allows you set the index of the specified axis.

Use the axis='columns' parameter to set the labels of the columns.

Syntax

dataframe.set_axis(labels, axis, inplace)

Parameters

The index, columns, axis, copy, inplace parameters are keyword arguments.

Parameter	Value	Description
labels		Optional. A list with the indexes
axis	`0 1 'index' 'columns'`	Optional, default 0. The axis to set the indexes on.
inplace	`True False`	Optional, default False. If True: the indexing is done on the current DataFrame. If False: returns a copy where the indexing is done.
